An impressive city

Cordoba is today as surprising, original and impressive as it was in its glorious past. Cordoba is one of those cities that meant something for the continent, a flourishing one that played an important role in the development of Spain and that of Europe. What is most impressive about Cordoba is that it used to be the stage where cultures such as the Jews, the Christians and the Moors lived together in a perfect harmony. They peacefully lived their lives together and many important scientists, artists and philosophers emerged from this amazing community. It is very important to know a little bit of Cordoba’s historical background, so when you start your sightseeing tour, you have the chance to better understand the importance of that particular monument for the city and why not, for the entire country. The first monument you’ll visit is surely the popular Mezquita, which is the outstanding Moorish mosque in Cordoba, but you’ll also visit museums, cathedrals and monasteries, so prepare yourself with lots of energy! Cordoba will also impress you with its lively atmosphere, with the Flamenco shows, the full of adrenaline bull fights and the typical Andalusian tradition; it is wonderful to spend a few days in Cordoba!

A sightseeing tour
The sightseeing tour is probably among the most busy and complex tours that stand at your disposal in Spain. Start it with the Mezquita and continue it with the beautiful Archiepiscopal Palace, displaying Gothic elements and details that remind tourists of its Moorish inhabitants. Puerta Del Puente has to be on your sightseeing list; it was originally part of the imposing Arabian walls, but as centuries passed, it was modified in a spectacular Renaissance style. The Jewish Quarter (La Juderia) is extremely famous not only in Cordoba, but in the entire country. The quarter was always an important center of the city culturally and artistically speaking and nowadays it represents the place where tourists can visit some of the few existing synagogues in the country. The Museums, such as the Art Museum or the Archaeological Museum are also ‘’musts’’ on your list, as well as the numerous squares and the Roman ruins.

Having a great time
Cordoba is famous for its cold soups; Salmorejo and Gazpacho are the most popular ones, containing mashed vegetables. The Cured ham is also delicious in Cordoba, so try it! Enjoy the amazing location lloret de mar city of Cordoba!
